ANENT also participated in the Nuclear Knowledge Management
Conference held in Vienna, Austria from 7-11 November 2016. With over 450
participants and observers from 61 countries, the successful conference
showcasedfive plenary and 33 parallel sessions, 25 exhibits, 70 posters and 17
satellite events.
Many of the ANENT members and the representatives from the member
countries attended the Conference and contributed to the conference programs.
On behalf of the ANENT, Ms Youngmi Nam, the ANENT Chairperson made a
presentation entitled ANENT Activities
for Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination at a technical session dedicated to
Networking and Technical Communities of Practices, where she summarized the
major achievements of the ANENT since its establishment in 2004.
The presentation also demonstrated the ANENT Web-Portal and regional
Learning Management System (LMS), installed and maintained by the KAERI as an
innovative tool for information exchanging and education and training. Ms. Nam
also expressed her gratitude to the support given to ANENT through IAEA Project
RAS 0075, which allows them to facilitate the ANENT activities and enhance
young nuclear scientists’ and public understanding of nuclear science and
technology.
Several exhibitors and sponsors from Asia and the Pacific region
installed their national or institutional booths, displaying their products and
services nearby the Conference rooms, including CNNC Beijing Research Institute
of Uranium Geology (BRIUG), East China University of Technology, Harbin
Engineering University, Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design
Institute (SNERDI) and University of South China from China, a national booth
of the Republic of Korea organized by Korea Nuclear International Cooperation
Foundation, Hitachi-GE Nuclear Energy, Ltd., Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.
(MHI) and Nuclear Engineering, Ltd. (NEL) from Japan, and a national booth of
the United Arab Emirates (UAE) coordinated by the UAE Permanent Mission in
Vienna.
