ANENT Joins Fellow
Networks in Knowledge Sharing on Education and Outreach Activities
ANENT joined its fellow nuclear education networks from different
regions of the globe as they gathered once again in Vienna, Austria on June
2016 for a valuable exchange of perspectives and experiences in the field of
nuclear education, training and outreach activities.
The meeting is among a series organized by the International Atomic
Energy Agency (IAEA) Nuclear Knowledge Management Section to provide a forum
among national and regional nuclear educational networks to share their recent
knowledges as well as the current situations faced by the various nuclear
education networks.
Among the attendees of the meeting are representatives from African
Network for Education in Science and Technology (AFRA-NEST), Latin American
Network for Education in Nuclear Technology (LANENT), the Belgian Nuclear Higher
Education Network (BNEN), The European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN) and the
Regional Network for Education and Training in Nuclear Technology (STAR-NET),
for a total of 27 participants from 24 countries.
ANENT Chairperson Ms. Youngmi Nam and Ms. Chanyotha Supitcha
represented ANENT in the meeting. They delivered presentations on the
activities of ANENT as well as the outreach program under IAEA Project RAS 0075
and its corresponding action plans.
The participants agreed that outreach was a common area to address
in every region, which shows the importance of information sharing in this
area. New concepts on IT-based tools and applications were also presented
during the meeting, including the Integrated Database (IDB), digital
repositories of outreach practices, semantic technology and digital repository,
and cloud supporting system.
